Mary Ellen Stanek Named Influential Woman in Institutional Investing
Mary Ellen Stanek, CFA, President of Baird Funds and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Baird Advisors, was recently named to Pensions & Investments’ 2023 Influential Women in Institutional Investing. In its inaugural year, P&I sought to recognize women in institutional investing who demonstrate a measurable effect and results within their workplace and within the industry and who demonstrate a commitment to attract, retain, support and promote women into the industry.
Mary Ellen began her investment career at First Wisconsin Trust Co., where she was promoted to CIO and developed and launched an innovative fixed income approach using duration-based strategies. In 2000, Stanek and a core team of leaders who continue working together today, established Baird Advisors and have built an impressive long-term track record as well as grown the business to more than $120 billion in assets under management across a diverse mix of clients. In 2022, Mary Ellen was named Outstanding Portfolio Manager by Morningstar and in 2021and 2020 she was named one of Barron’s 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance.
In addition to leading the consistent growth of Baird’s fixed income asset management business, Mary Ellen is a constant advocate for women and a leader for Baird’s inclusion and diversity efforts.
